Pramono Explains How City Government Prepares for Tidal Wave

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung said Jakarta Provincial Government has been able to handle tidal flood potential that always threats northern Jakarta area. Pramono admitted several preparations have made it successful.

Previously, Jakarta Provincial Government warned the potential of tidal flood in the end of March during the Eid holidays.
"The tidal flood was there, but it had been handled earlier," he said, Sunday (4/20).

several vulnerable points.Jakarta Provincial Government also installed gabions as barriers in prone to tidal flood areas, activated water pumps, and raised the embankments especially in Muara Angke area by 2.5 meters.
"We predicted tidal flood to hit during Eid holidays in end of March. But we prepared everything to face it. Thanks to God it did not impacted the residents much,"
Pramono also appreciated the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency for routinely updating information related to tidal wave in Jakarta. The agency's data is important in mitigating the tidal flood.
"Thanks to BMKG for updating the tidal wave information to us," he stated.
